I haven't tried them, but that looks good. But what do you think about this:

Every New Account Comes Packed With All Of The Following Features:

500 MB Web Space
Free Domain Name
Online Control Panel
Site Creation Tool!
24/7 FTP Access
Unlimited E-Mail Accounts
Spam Blocker
24/7 Tech Support
FrontPage 2002 Extensions
Web Site Statistics
Personal CGI-BIN
MySQL
Pass Protected Directories
Anon FTP
Server Side Includes (SSI)
SMTP Server
Graphical Hit Counter
Unix Based
Super Fast Servers!
5 Gigs Data Transfer & Hits
Site Search Engine
Real Audio/Video Avail.
URL Redirection/Forwarding
Java, PERL, C++, TCL, and Python, PHP4
Can host any domain - .com, .net, .org, .uk, .nu, .to, etc.

Price is approximately $200 one time fee. Recurring annual fee is on domain names and maintenance. Some people don't like the Unix, oh well.

I didn't post url because that might sound like advertisement, since I'm an affiliate. I didn't know what would be exactly proper.

$200 on time fee
I take it you mean $200 one time fee...

5 gigs is enough for most sites, but my game site uses about 7 GB a month (mostly because of the games, not traffic). It gets about 120,000 page views a month. Looks good though. I personally prefer paying month by month however...

I will be opening an advertisement category when we get a little bigger, where people can post ads pretty cheap...

You can post the site URL though if you would like...

P.S> Your going to pass me in posts! Kidding...
I may just promote you to moderator after your first day!

This has been one of my "talking" days, hehe

Your right! It is a one time fee. (Hmm, I even edited the message so the next reader would understand...)

And as with just about anything, you can pay an additional fee for more bandwidth.

There is also a monthly fee arrangement if you like that better!

I just tested my affiliate link and it didn't work. So, not to hold anyone up, the url is http://www.nomonthlyfees.com.

They have an affiliate program and a reseller program. Pretty cool!

Not to down gearhost.com or anything, they are probably excellent company, but 4.95 is just a bit cheap for that kind of bandwith, because resale on bandwith is about 3.00 a piece, a T-3 connection as most hostssay they have costs almost 3,000 a month, and it would be illogical for someone to throw bandwith away like that.

So if you actually use all of that bandwith they might say something to you, or such. So beware it has happened to me

Welcome to the forums Computer Guy!

That is a good point you make...

I was with one host once that said..

"Unlimited Bandwith"!!

Later in fine print they add:

"up to (so many GB)"....

I think it will be a little while before I get to using near that much on my new PS2 site so for now I'm gonna see how it goes.

Definitely something to think about though...

I signed up with Gearhost.com at the start of this month (well, the 7th) and I must say I am very impressed with the service I have recieved so far.

Since then I have had no fewer than 5 instances where I had questions or needed support to fix problems outside of my scope and each one was answered/fixed within 24 hours! I've also been using InternetSeer to monitor their accounts and it has reported no downtime since I started there.

Regards to the bandwidth issue, there is one thing about the accounts that I don't think are made clear enough on the pages (but since I've been with them it is obvious they are still working on building the support pages). The 10gb and 100Mb includes ALL your network traffic and space, logs, mail, ftp and http - the only thing not included in that 10Gb is your use of the control panel, since it uses their own domain for logging in and administration.

At least the logs are broken up into daily useage so that you can manage them easier... my old host had monthly logs which made downloading them towards the end of the month more time consuming and bandwidth wasting than it needed to be.
