I have always been weary of using free hosts. If you are just wanting to put a site up for fun, get a google account, they will let you use a subdomain or your own domain name.

I believe to see the reviews on the certain company it is enough to do search for the domain name of the company.

Free Hosting is never a good thing.

They make money somehow from you. And even though the space is free, yes they might add a ad or 20 to your page...first impressions are a *****

Good or Bad using free hosting, even no ads / ads free, you should always backup your data don't wanna loose your important data

Free Host may or may not reliable and not gives you full control of your site. So I advise you to use a affordable and reliable paid service instead of free services. Also ads supported free hosting is not welcomed by Google Adsense.

I recommend you visiting freewebspace forums. There are lots of good free web hosting providers there.

I think you should just forget free hosting because if you encounter and problems I'm sure they won't give you the support you need. I would just got with low cost web hosting which there are quite a bit these days. Just choose what best suit your needs.

I agree with most of the people here, you can get a domain name for around $10 and i have seen very basic hosting for as little as $40 a year, i mean it is basically the same as a free web host but it will look more professional and you will not have to deal with 20 banner and popup ads everywhere.

Don't go with a free host, they are horrible and add so many clients to one crappy server that it's not even funny.
