Godaddy is the biggest domain name registar. They started web hosting service few months ago - I have heard mostly negative reviews. Better search google to make sure.

Why are you looking for windows hosting?
Also, I would have to agree with Travis. Although their domain name services are very trustworthy, I have heard many negative reviews with their web hosting, and the support they offer for it.

The only client I've had who used them for hosting stopped after a couple months of irritation, don't know much more than that about their hosting services.

They've been a hosting provider since the early 2000s. By now, they're already one of the more experienced and bigger hosting providers. There's unfortunately a number of negative reviews to be read about their hosting service though.

They are very large, and very-very well known. It's unfortunate that their hosting isn't quite as good as their DNS services.

I really haven't had any problems with them. They're probably one of the cheaper hosting packages out there and they give me everything I need for right now for PHP and MySQL websites. I don't think I've experienced any downtime, at least that I've noticed. Here's why I like their customer service:
1. They actually call after you make a purchase to see if you had any technical questions.
2. They don't try to upsell you on the phone.
3. Wait times have always been very low or non-existent when I call.
4. They've almost always been able to answer my questions.
5. I had recurring payment on a domain that I actually wanted to drop. I called them the next day and they reversed the charge, no questions asked.
6. They've always been friendly and courteous on the phone and I've never gotten someone that isn't a native English speaker.
7. They send emails if something is about to expire or be renewed.
8. They give you a grace period if something has already expired.
9. They've allowed me to upgrade or downgrade hosting packages very easily.
10. They're very concerned about their customer service and ask to send out a customer service survey after every call.
My experience with them has been very, very good. You can get a domain name and their most basic hosting package for a year for about $45 if you use an online promo code (just google it).

I've had a hosting account with GoDaddy for nearly two years. They have excellent support as VirtousiMedia detailed, and they are all based in the US. I haven't had any problems with hosting downtime, but I do find the control panel a little lacking. It's also disappointing that I can't assign more than one domain to my plan (I use the economy plan). They have a pretty good webmail though, if you need it, which works on desktops and most mobile devices.

Looks like the rumors I've been hearing around the net about godaddy being a bad host, have finally been silenced.
Thanks VM for sharing! I'll often relate back to that post of yours, in similar situations .

I agree.. I have heard ALL BAD things about them as far as hosting. For a registrar.. I love them, have over 50 domains with them

Beware!
I recently (less than a week) signed up for a Go Daddy hosting account (Linux, Shared, Deluxe Hosting) and it has been a nightmare. I'm canceling my hosting account. I've used free hosts to test pages and must admit that even them are faster than Go Daddy. They need to stick to being a registrar not a web hosting company.

Webhosting wise I'm not sure. I always hear such bad things about them. My uncle had a website with them and he had a hell of a time getting it to load it was very temperamental. As far as domain names go... I've had wonderful service and their DNS change couldn't be faster. Hey normally change for me in an hour maybe longer.

I use godaddy as a domain registrar.
For hosting, if you really need to talk to someone on the phone, they may be a good choice. I prefer 24/7 email only support. It costs the host less money and I have never been on hold for less that 20 minutes with godaddy (domain issues, but same hold time). For me, I'd rather send an email about a problem than be on hold for 20 minutes.
They used to have a 50 outgoing email restriction. I'm not sure if that has changed. Lets say you have an ecommerce gift site that gets 100 orders a day. For each order an email is sent to your customer, one to you, and maybe more. That's more than 50 emails. I don't know that that is still in effect or if they will work with you on that.
My feeling for godaddy hosting is it is probably a good place to start or for a hobby site. If you know the basics such as how to use the cp, ftp, etc., they are not the place to host.
They will probably not screw you over if you move hosts. That being said, their have been rumors floating around that if you do a domain search for a domain that the search info is given to domain squaters. In other words, if I do a domain search on godaddy for "dallas-cleaning-supplies.com" and it is available and I don't buy it in that moment, you come back the next day and someone else owns that name and will sell it to you for $50. I do not know that that is accurate and it would actually surprise me with godaddy, but I have seen multiple forum posts on that issue. It certainly happens with some other registrars.

I wonder what is the point of mulling one company?
@OP: Why did you decide to host with godaddy? Have you looked through other hosting providers? Why not just look up several plans from different companies, e.g. ServerPoint.com or even hostgator and make a notion of the market...

I personally have over 130 domains registered through GoDaddy and over 1000 client domains registered - they are fantastic for domain registration and DNS *but* I would never use any other service especially hosting, SSL or Traffic Blazer from them. The only thing they do good is domains, everything else is not so good.
