My biggest complaint with GoDaddy although not to do with their hosting at all, is how much they try to sell you. Just to get one domain I have to go through pages of junk that I really don't need. And what is worse, they change the pages every few weeks so every time its a little bit different and harder to buy just the domain I wanted.

Godaddy is one of the best registrars, but one of the worst hosts. Don't expect trouble tickets to be answered for 48-72 hours either.

GoDaddy is truly the worst well known web host out there, I would never trust any website no matter how insignificant to them. I even refuse to register domains with them due to past incidents.

There are many fantastic hosts out there. Unfortunately, just keep in mind that cheap hosting doesn't mean best web hosting.

Godaddy as a host is just okay. They use custom control panel, which you may or may not like. Their support is professional and reasonably fats, but may not be very helpful if you are a totally non technical person.

But dont even think about hosting PHP sites on godaddy windows account. PHP on windows comes with most of the functions disabled. Most popular opensource PHP software wont work on godaddy windows hosting.

I advise to forget about godaddy and look for another host, whose reviews would be mostly positive.

I use GoDaddy to host my own and all of my clients web sites. Their IIS7 servers support both PhP and ASP and you get both MySQL and MS SQL. I have been using them for a couple of years now.

If you need cheap reliable service, GoDaddy is great. I host about 40 personal web sites on a single $7 a month account that has 150 GB of space. You can host an unlimited number of domains on a single account. And you can pay month by month (no paying for 6 months or a year in advance).

However, in my personal opinion, they have the WORST customer service in the business. Nearly every single time I have had to deal with them on an issue, it was a nightmare. Fortunately, I only deal with them a couple times a year at most, so for me personally, it's worth the pain.

I have never experienced any downtime of my web sites in the two years I've been with them. And I've never had any issues with them accidentally restoring backups and over-writing my sites, or anything like that. Their web tools for managing your site(s) are pretty easy to use.

Just pray you never have to deal with their customer reps. But if you are mostly indpendent and rarely need hand-holding, I highly recommend them for price and uptime alone.

Just out of curiosity what products are you having problems with? I have successfully set up PhPBB, WordPress and PostNuke on a Windows hosting account with GoDaddy. And yes, a ton of stuff is disabled so most plugins don't work, but depending on your needs, it might work.

As far as buying domain names, you can go to GoDaddy but I am so sure on their new hosting service. But then again, a company as big as GoDaddy won't ever sacrifice quality of service for anything else. Got a big reputation to protect. But then again it is your choice at the end.

I've slogged thru hundreds and hundreds of reviews for many hosting companies, GoDaddy among them. To say that ALL reviews for GD are bad is a gross overstatement, it's just not true. I've used GoDaddy for hosting for a number of sites, and I've never had a single bit of trouble with them - no complaints. I've read enough POSITIVE reviews of them as well. I've seen just as many negative reviews and complaints for the other 'big' hosting companies out there too.

The bottom line is you can NEVER make EVERYBODY happy, it's impossible to even try, there's always going to be people who are unhappy for some reason, and many who will get disgruntled and start dissing the company.

From my experience, it's mostly a crap shoot with a few exceptions for those that most people seem to agree are REALLY bad.

As a registrar, they're ok. However, with hosting, I think they could do better. You have to wait a while for the setup and features.

If you're used to CPanel, you'll find it cumbersome. That's just my opinion.

As domain name registrar they are great, but they are not really good in web hosting.
As rule better have domain name in one place and web hosting in another. Go with godaddy for domain name registration and with webhostgiant.com for web hosting.
I think that is great couple

I've heard negative reviews about GoDaddy hosting. As for as domain registration is concerned it's really great.

Well I do not want to mislead you but godaddy is bit expensive and they are not providing the value of that much money. I heard about Hostgator and I will shift my website from godaddy to hostgator in coming future as they are providing comparatively cheap hosting than go daddy.

i actually started with godaddy years back and still have hosting account with them where i run basis sites. never really had any windows hosting as i found linux hosting to be offering lot more flexibility to me. godaddy is known as beginner's host and if you are looking for a simple basic hosting, then they are just fine. i however moved to a new host seeing lot of limitation on godaddy hosting and not offering some features other hosts offer. cPanel is the inustry standard now and godaddy doesn't offer that. it actually all depends on what you need form your host.

Well as far as their support is concerned I am satisfied person. But since I am not able to compare with other host so I cant rank them. But I got the reply within 15 minutes when I have send my query to them.

But yeah I also heard negative point about them and always heard good about Hostgator.

Rite now I am planning to have large bandwith with any hosting company. Do you guys have any suggestion for that ?
