Best Dedicated Server host for You!

Hello,

I have a good predictions with ServerPoint's Dedicated Servers. But still, I would like to view other servers. I'm asking your opinion on what dedicated server host are you using? and are you satisfied with them?

Are you looking for a managed or un-managed provider?

We've had great experiences with TailorMadeServers, however, they do not provide management services, so you would need to go through a third-party for general server managements if you're unable to do it yourself.

I co-locate with Total Server Solutions right now. I've had great success with them and how they manage my server.

I started off with ServerBeach from Serverbeach.com which provider unmanged dedicated servers. Mainly cause of their price at the time. They have a couple awesome systems such as rapid reboot which allows you to reboot a server at any time without putting a trouble ticket. They are a great place to start off at and many of the popular web 2.0 sites are/were hosted there such as YouTube and wordpress.com

Now that I have been expanding I am looking at a couple other providers since serverbeach does not offer private racks and some other upgrades that I would like to have.

I've had experience with both RackSpace and with SuperbHosting. Both are excellent choices. It all depends on what you can afford, though, because RackSpace's initial offerings are a lot higher than SuperbHosting's dedicated offerings. Plus, I believe the support is different (Rackspace offers "Fanatical 24/7 support" whereas in Superb, you have to pay for credits.)

Another bonus with RackSpace is that you can feel a little better about yourself and your company with their green hosting solutions.

I looked into some dedicated servers recently to potentially move from mosso (shared grid) to a dedicated machine. From the quotes I got - I liked serverbeach and liquidweb the best. Rackspace was more than double most of the others and just offered extra stuff that we didn't really need.

Yeah, it really does depend on your needs. Would I get a Rackspace server for a personal site? MAYBE - IF I had millions of visitors monthly and I would lose money from downtime. But when I used Rackspace, I actually worked at a small business hosting company, and we had hundreds of e-commerce clients on the site, so it was critical to have 100% uptime and immediate fixes to any problems I encountered. Fortunately, Rackspace delivers that and are available at ANY time of the day by phone. Other service providers don't offer that.

If it is mission critical, I would suggest checking into RackSpace, however, if you can deal with a *possible* .01 to .05% downtime per month, then just about any other dedicated server provider will suit your basic needs.

Of course, as with any provider, the actual cost depends on the hardware you choose for your server.

ThePlanet has been reliable in the past, however, in the past 1.5 years, I've not used their services; not because they are bad, simply because they didn't offer what we needed at the time.

For me I feel that wholesaleinternet.com provides me the best services been using them for a long time until I no longer need a windows server anymore, efficient and responsible services.

I think that you need to include several porviders in your list hostgator.com (dedicated server offers) Solidhost.com (dedicated server offers), Serverbeach.com.

Yeah I know never to use to use Netxservers.com They are crooks. But iweb.ca is pretty good.

rackspace was too good but the price.. hmm..
liquidweb is good for reasonably priced managed hosting. Softlayer is a good choice for self managed servrs.

We are in the process of putting together a few hundred websites that will work together along parallel - related themes dealing with tourism/real estate business promotion here in northern Baja, Mexico. I am looking to contract a dedicated server for our hosting. We are on a tight budget. What are the most economical options for us out there in your opinions?

I'm using http://www.sharktech.net for years. Great dedicated servers.
For webhosting only i use: http://www.valueserver.de

Both are fast and reliable.

Swiftie, yeah and you have to understand that you might be lost among their thouthand customers.
