Fluidhosting, Jodohost, Cartikahosting are some windows hosting providers that come to mind. Not cheap, but from what i've heard, quite good.

bulk host tends to practice heavy overselling, and that can result in lower service quality, try look for web host that do not offer bulk plans with cheap rate but reasonable web space with affordable rate.

Cheap it doesn't mean quality. And I think that you have to understand that. Webhostingstuff.com

thanks for the advice, will check them out.
i just want a reliable service, not so worried about the £ as long as it isnt silly money.
I have managed to get a refund out of 1&1 by complaining, which was 'nice' of them.

I think that if you make sure about the money back guarantee you can try the one you like the most at the moment

By the way, i have one more advice, whoever you choose for your hosting needs, do not fall into the trap of paying for one or two years in advance keep it monthly even if that is a bit more expensive.

i use hostgator.com now and have used alot of other companies before but they are by far the best i think
i have been with them for about a year now and the best thing is the features included in the hosting and also the support which is always very fast and so your problem gets solved quickly
the server speeds are really good too and dont decrease during peek times because they dont overload there servers
if you want to buy some hosting with them please do contact me first as i can get it at cheaper rates than listed on the site for you (im not a reseller though)

?"Money back guarantee"?
What is that? You do or you don't.
It's like to say: - we're not sure if we're capable to host your site...
- we're not sure if our services quality is up to highest standards
- we maybe can do our job but we're not sure if we can or will and that is why we offer Money Back Guarantee
The same applies to 30 days free trial.
If WHC offers quality service for 30 days only then you should stay away as far as you can from that kind of host.
When you hire web hosts, they should do their best from the moment you site went life and they shouldn't offer you bargain and/or enticing solutions just to get your business. WHC must give you 100% Guarantee that state: WHC know you will be satisfied because we know our job and you will be happy with our services from very first moment and as long as you going to use our services.

I got my service from crystaltech.com Their service is fantastic. Their support is excellent. If you have some basic concepts of setting up database and odbc, their online tools are so easy to use. I got my website up and running without need to seek any help from their support at all. I got around 300 visits per day so far. Everything is still up and running smoothly. So I am very satisfy with it. Checkout my site from my sig. Before that I have tried m6.net, but I got downtime so often, and their support is so-so. So good luck!

Actually, in certain jurisdictions and for certain products, a money back guarantee is obligatory. A money back guarantee is definitely not a sign of insecurity, nor something bad to have.
With a no question asked money back guarantee, the customer may simply decide not to have a site anymore (even if the service is great), cancel and get his money back. There's value in that.
Nothing in life is ever perfect. No man, and no company can make absolutely everyone and anyone happy. I may signup with the help of a friend, and later on require support. But I don't speak English. I speak some strange, little known language. I am your customer, you must help me, and help me now! Can you? That's when the money back guarantee comes to my advantage, as a customer. With help from my friend, I can just cancel a couple of days later, and I'd get my refund.

Hello btcc -Thunder,
I will suggest you to look for a web host provider who is located in your region but reputed. I agree to dman_2007 for not ordering the plan more than a year as well as check for money back guarantees. This helps to check the services/server/support.
Please let me know in case you have any more questions, I will be glad to assist you.
Thank you.

Let me say first that opinion about money back guarantee is my personal opinion and I do not speak about company policies I am working for. As a matter of fact, company I'm working for has 333 days money back policy and my post above is just my own thoughts.
Said that, I must point that there is no Law that I know which oblige companies to have mandatory money back policies or to give money back for product or services they sold.
Company doing that because they don’t want to be thrown in dirt by some vengeful client and not because they are selling bad services or products.
Let me give you some examples.
You bought ticket to movie and after 10 minutes realized that you went to wrong Movie Theater.
Now, why should you get your money back?
Or, you bought 1 Foot long Submarine Sandwich and after half foot you got full and decided to ask for money back because you had only half of what you paid for.
Or ask your Lawyer to give you your money back because Court convicted you for killing somebody.
Your personal situation or mind set or circumstances had nothing to do with company who signed contract with you and as long as they are in a position to provide you with their services you have as much right to ask for refund as that guy in Movie Theater.

In UK, there is, for everything that is sold online. If my memory serves me well, where I live, there is one for footwear, which must be guaranteed for 30 days. Consumer protection laws really do vary a lot.
Quote:
|
If selling into Denmark, consumers must be given a 14 working day cooling-off period during which the consumer can change his or her mind about the purchase and return the goods for a refund. In the UK, the cooling-off period is only seven working days. These are only examples, of course there are many other differences.
