I am agreement with the 2 above posts. I would also do the math to see the cost of doing something like this.

Lets say you use 10 GB a month pf bandwidth, rough cost of 1 GB of bandwidth is 50 cents to a dollar. So lets do the math of cost to the host.

.50(10 * X) = 77

X = 38.5 months roughly, after that point you have used how much you have paid for, so it really makes no business sense to sell so much bandwidth for so **** little.

Lippy - great point. It's amazing how clear things can be when you take the time to break it down and do some simple math.

If you do the math using the full amount lets see how that breaks down.

.50(50 * X) = 77

X = 3 months(an 4 GB spare) before you use up the actual money you have paid for the hosting. This just not include cost of employees and other expenses.

They'll be relying on lots of users not using up their full quota, so it might even out. Once thats done though, they're gonna make a loss.....

Actually, they are looking for volume over anything.
The more clients they get, the better. Basically at their costs tho, they won't be around to long if thats their primary business plan.

hmmm.... if I was a person looking for hosting then I would stay well away, because they are not getting a constant input of money and if you are 1 of around 20 people who signed up etc, and the company decides to pack it in then your stuffed. I would only also go for recommended hosts - these guys sound dodgy and there price is too low for what they are offering. I would be very wary!

I fell into the "Lifetime Hosting" trap and now I am very miserable. My server goes down all of the time. My emails are never answered. To make it even worse I had sold web space to other clients!
It's just not a good way to go, trust me!! Once they get your money they forget about you....

I have since resolved the problems through a very good server. The lifetime server was there but it would just be gone one day and you wouldn't know when it would be back on. Sometimes weeks or months, it was crazy. This last time it still is not back up, the whole time the guy would never reply to constant emails any of the times his server went down.

I think he would take it down on purpose trying to shake his lifetime customers loose...
It is a crock...

Thanks for asking.

I bought an unlimited hosting account a few years ago for $10 from freepersonalwebsites.com Thier website is not there anymore but my site there is still up, unlimited storage & bandwidth & it is always up. I just use it for testing & photo storage.

Anyone used this place: http://www.infrenion.com
They have a good reseller account for 25 per month which gives a lot more space and bandwidth than my current reseller host. But my current host is always up and has good support so I guess you get what you pay for.
