I have decided to create a web directory and it will be most probably a general directory. But I dont know where to start. Is it better to populkate it with DMOZ listing first then gradually improve listing by time. Or is it better to create one from scratch... In either way I need to create a ctagory structure also... Could you please direct me how to proceed and give me some starting point at least to build a directory structure first...

Thnx,
ayhan

Usually is better to create one from scratch...no need to add links from dmoz.
Regarding the category structure...you may want to have a look at some of the succesful directories and inspire yourself

Well, It is up to you to populate with dmoz listing or create one from scratch, whatever you find easy manageable and for structure you may follow popular directories...
