How RUDE!

Check out this response I got from a Web Directory I submitted to:

What the *Q#*??? I have no flash, no pop ups, only some javascript to help keep the site updated and I don't believe the page loads slowly, I've got loads of content on the site, etc. etc. etc... this is just flat out rude!

I shouldn't laugh at this, but it is kind of funny...the only Javascript is the menu, and it doesn't load slowly to me.

Maybe they got two submissions mixed up...or maybe they confused the animated GIF at the bottom with a Flash.

At any rate, I'd just let this go...that's not exactly a "quality directory".

I think that was just a copy paste reply... so just ignore & carry on with your link building process.

But the rudeness! I've never seen the likes of it -- and I've seen A LOT...as I imagine you have, too.

Actually, after my initial "shock" wore off, I had to laugh, too. It's really very unprofessional...at best.

So my advice to any readers - -don't bother with this directory!

Thanks, angel - was beginning to wonder at first so it's really good to hear others don't think it loads slowly, either. Worked hard to keep it from doing just that.

I tried going to your site and it loaded very fast. It only took a few seconds. There were also no annoying elements such as Flash on the webpage. I think some directories just use standard template responses when writing rejection letters. Maybe they wanted you to pay for a listing in their directory.

I haven't checked their directory, but I hope it's empty.

So they don't care about contents or quality, they just measure loading speed. Very clever I must say!

Thanks, everyone, for the replies. I just wonder what on earth was up their butt when they wrote this response. Maybe they got tired of free submissions or something but if that's the case, they shouldn't accept them rather than be flat out rude to people.

That could be... I sure don't need my link in that directory, no -- in fact, I don't depend on directories although I do take a few hours here and there when I can to submit because I figure it can't hurt...and if one would wind up sending a respectable amount of traffic, I'd be happy to pay to upgrade my link but I see free submissions as a sort of "Test run" of a directory.

That was rude. Even if it were true, that is not the way to reply. I went through several pages of your site and it loaded quickly.

Rude indeed, that's the sure fire way to ruin their own directory...
