They're a pain the arse to get listed on. Probably because being so highly ranked means they get tons of spam listings.

Why did poster post those in the first place ?
those are very hard to get in, I think the easiest is probably DMOZ
and everyone knows how hard that is

Has anybody actually gotten in any of these ?

I got listed on dmoz. 1.5 years after I submitted the site and it no longer existed as what I submitted it for (no idea how it was listed in that category If they actually looked at the site). Personal opinion is that dmoz has become a waste of time to even try and submit sites to. I had to get them to remove the site for the topic it was under and was a complete pain. Just look at there forums. The only people who seem to be happy with dmoz are the editors.(personal opinion) Its not even a good traffic generator the only thing I have seen it used for is page rank increase in Google. And to increase the page value if you are going to sell it. Which from my noob opinion can be done other ways. Sorry for the rant

DMOZ is very difficult getting listed at. I submitted a dozen websites there - neat description and everything. Still waiting to get listed...
