building new software directory

I want to build a software directory similar
with hotscripts.com

I am currently trying to investigate what I can do
to make a better one, so I would like some feedback
from users of such directories what could I do better
and what are the most important features that they
are interested.

Any feedback is highly appreciated.

I recently installed similar to hot scripts script on my site "script hungry dot com" and now I am looking for database. Keep me posted if you have better advice.
