For those of you who submit to paid directories, what do you look for?

Example: Price, SEO Friendliness (static pages), traffic, etc....

I like sites that use the PHP Link Directory script. It is by far the best to submit to, IMO. A paid directory should certainly accept subpage submissions, as long as they are relevant for the category. The higher the PR, the better, of course. Traffic would be great, especially for those who submit other directories or web sites webmasters would be interested in. The directory being search engine friendly is a complete requirement for a paid directory. Price should be reasonable for the PR/traffic offered. Do not have image validation on the submission form! You will make a lot more money without it. Those are the most important things, I think.

Ease of submissions and quick service is always a good thing to look for, too.

I look for the free ones myself. I've paid for a few listings before. I think if I paid for the listing I would look for traffic, PR and topic/keywords relavant to my own site. Sites that get other traffic besides directory browsers and webmasters looking to list sites are good. Sites with bulletin boards and weblogs may be good places to list. But you can just post your link on a blog or forum anyway.

Free.

Only problem with those free directories are the listing time period.

Yes there are hundreds of free directories out there, but everyone tries to get listed in them since they're free. So it could take weeks to months to be included. With that said, I submit my sites to all the free directories
