Hey I'm getting really board of the same submission crap. Just switched hosts and lost about 40 good links due to down time. Took about 2 good months submiting to them and to be honest I cant be arsed copying and pasting ALL OVER AGAIN

Ive been looking at autofill addons for firefox and ie etc. I found one program which costs $70 which only submits to 90 dirs which is pretty crap.

Anyone have any recommendations or suggestions?

Thanks,
Andy

yeah tell me about it. i found the perfect extension. it's a dream doing submission now.
you need something called greasemonkey. man i love that thing.
anyway it simply allows you to execute your own scripts on any webpage form.
i use it to fill it all the standard forms like user registration but started using it for link exchange a few months back.
makes swapping take more like 5 seconds instead of 5 minutes.
you just press CTRL+SHIFT+5 and your imported script will execute.

you can find it on the mozilla dev zone.

hope that helps - if you have trouble with js then pm me and i will give ya a hand.

googletoolbar for firefox also have the autofill function. It does the job for me.
though its not very customisable i.e. you cant add custom fields etc.. but a time saver no the less.

I would submit by hand so you're not penalized. I can tell when I recieve auto-submissions and I delete them, so I'm sure the major SE's and directories can. I view it as spam, and I'm sure they d as well. I would play it safe and hand submit..

don't use automated submission tools, as search engines don't like that. To prevent automated submission most search engies use visual identifier now. Do it manually. If you submit your site to google, yahoo, msn and alexa you have done 98% of our work done. Other small search engies use search data of yahoo and google.

I'd stay away from software for submissions.

Manual quality links is the way to go.

The way I get listed is by linking to all my sites from my pr5 personal site. That way the site is listed in most SE's in NO time, and with almost 0 work. Dont make it a recip link - a oneway link is best

submit programs will get your site delete at many Searchengines - I HIGHLY suggest you DONT use those. I ALWAYS hand-submit

wat about the way mozilla saves data.. same thing just type a letter and select from drop down box. You mean like making every submission unique.. but im not exactly a guy with nothing better to be doing than writing novels for directories to just say..naa dont want ya.

Alot of times there are stringent submission guidelines and if your site doesn't meet the criteria you can't list your site anyway. If the submission guidelines are more than about 500 words, I tend to just move on to the next directory on the list. Yeah I should read them, but I get bored and I'm really into instant gratification. I'm getting better with experience. But offsite SEO and SE and Directory/portal marketing can seem painstaking at times.

As long as you follow the submission guidelines and are atentive to detail on the submission form you are likely to get accepted if you have followed all of the instructions.

The down side of automating your submission process is that you will be submitting identical link anchor texts and site descriptions. There are content filters that weed out identical content at least in some cases. This is a just in case thing.

Some people have mentioned some dos and don'ts, I don't really think there is a good answer.

I also agree with bbott...
If you want to get some free extra traffic you need to install reciprocal link directory script on your site. I highly recommended eSyndiCat Links Exchange Script.

You can downlaod it here for free:

quick question, i do understand Auto Submission to Search Engines are bad, but is it the same with Directories?

cause i never actually do submit in the search engines anyway, as i have never had any result by Just Hand Submitting to any SE.. yet, with links from Directories and other similar sites, i get indexed.

So, would u really say Auto-Submission using tool is bad?

cause i did develop a tool myself. I have a list of some 350 free directories, which take only 2 hours to submit. But its Not Completely Automatic, there is still some clicks required to be made for every form.

To be honest, i was thinking about offering this service for other webmasters, Like have your sites Submitted to 350+ directories for $49.99 but donno if it will work, and also perhaps will need a partner to promote it and take care of the sales etc..

anyhow, lemme know your thoughts..

(Sorry for the 2 part post, just kept on writing)
