directorycritic is goog site. But many directory list is not free.

the only directories I use is local directories (well, used them in the past for clients). For an example, if I was helping a doctor get more web presense in let's say Orlando, Florida - then I would find local business directories and place the link to the doctor's site there. Maybe under the "medical" section or something that was relevent to her site.

I am agreed with talksfour. They are good. Also you can find hundreds of directory from this forum. This forum has a great list.

Hi Directory Critic and web-directories.ws are the best sources of tons of various directories. Have listed two of my niche directories there and I am very satisfied with the support got there, as a directories owner.
I really do not understand why you do like only free directories. Free directories tends to disappear after few years (with your links on board).
How directory owner can maintain all the costs, if he/she gets only free submmissions? How long something can be free????
Recipro directories are as good as the free one and tends to stay live much longer, supported by gainning on PR.
