I have this new website which has a PR=0 at the moment.. me and my friends are doing some submissions and blog commenting on all available sites. Will this increase my sites popularity or will i get banned by google. Suggestions required on this.
It will absolutely help. Remember you get back what you put into something. The more submissions and blog commenting you do the better your site will rank in the next PR update. Keep in mind PR is constantly updating but the visual aspect of what we can see is only updated every so often.
For the new site it takes nearly half of the year to get PR assigned. So if you have done lot of work by gaining links during this period you suddenly surprise that from NA it has gone to directly to medium (talking about PR values in Google Webmasters tools not the numbers in your browser toolbar).
Yes, just keep submitting to them but remember too much of one type of back link is frowned upon. Try writing an article, then submit it to many article directories with slightly changed content. Also do the same for free PR sites, as well as some intelligent blog commenting in your niche. hope this helps.
The results of your optimization efforts may not easily be visible. It will take time before you can benefit from the blogging, directory submitting, linking that you do. Directory submission is allowed and will not have you banned.
what are bad links ? Google will ban you if you generated 100 backlinks in a single month. So take note of that. Just take it slow and everything else will follow.
