Hi,

I just added my website into the Open Directory Project (DMOZ). Any idea how long it takes to get listed?

Regards.

Depends on the category, if the Editor for that categories active could be in a few days, if not could be over a year....

If you dont receive any editor.dmoz.org referrer's to your site or your not added within a month try www.resource-zone.com/forum/ - you can ask about specific submittions there once a month or so.

A friend of mine has said that DMOZ is starting to go downhill... and yeah, takes forever to get submitted. Its just not like what it used to be.

Hmm... just wondering if you'll get a reply if and when your site gets listed? Or do you have to check at DMOZ yourself?

Someone should make a DMOZ clone, make a better API for it, get more editors, etc... etc... They have far too much power. It can't be that hard.

Were does this come from?

DMOZ is the largest directory (4.5 million sites)
DMOZ is the fastest growing diretory (2000 sites a day get listed)

That does not look like going downhill to me.
Is it going downhill because it has not yet listed *your* site?

Sometimes more than 6 months. It depend of category editor. The are some DMOZ editors who block new submission. There are some who work very hard.

I never had any luck getting into dmoz. I submitted my most content-rich site, http://www.home-business-match.com which has about 150 original articles and other useful content and no ads, wrote a good description and still did not get listed.
