After months of frustration my website submission has finally been approved by the DMOZ editorial team and has been put in the respective category. It took 8 months to get the nod ,since it was a free subscription.I had already given up hope and when I asked members from various forums they came up with 2 options a)DMOZ is no longer important and 2)Bribe the editor.Well I didn't believe the first and neither did I try the second one.So people who still have their website waiting for approval in the cue don't get dis heartened just submit it to the most relevant category .Incase your website has 10 keywords and you optimize your website properly for all of them, then try submitting it to the category that has the minimum amount of approvals pending. That will surely help.I did that and was successful.

What sort of life do you have, that something like DMOZ causes this much frustration

DMOZ lists several 1000 sites a month, so not sure why its news that your site gets listed!

I'm still waiting for my site to be approved by DMOZ people. It's true that it's hard to be listed in DMOZ. I submitted my site 7 months ago but until now no more feedback.

Are you talking about the site in your signature? What has your site got that others already listed in the category do not have? DMOZ wants unique content and does not want to list every site on a topic. You may be waiting a very long time. DMOZ is not a listing service.

Where did you get that information from? did you make it up?

Half the sites that get listed in DMOZ were never submitted in the first place.
Of those that are submitted and get listed, about half of them are listed within 3 months; the rest within a few years.

I know that DMOZ is a cesspool of incompetent jerks with the power given to them by their Master to conduct inquisition from the basement of their parents house but I have no idea what is DMOZ is good for.

So, tell us all what is the roll of DMOZ.

There you go again ... resorting to name calling rather than sticking to the issues.

You have been told repeatedly in several forums by several different editors that your directory is not close to being good enough for a listing in DMOZ (see the guidelines). Does the fact that all editors agree not tell you something?

You have a chip on shoulder because of this, you need to get over this and move on.

So you know and shut up you mouth from now on.

AMRAY Directory is not in DMOZ any longer not because it is not good enough for elites brain-dead editors but because 4 years ago someone decided that links in AMRAY index resembled links in DMOZ and demanded to put on it pages designation to DMOZ as if AMRAY is using DMOZ index and because AMRAY rejected that stupid demand, DMOZ removed AMRAY from it index.

Now you know why, you can check with your bodies at DMOZ to verify the reason.

As to our directory, I know why DMOZ kicked your sorry a** by looking on your incompetent assessment of our directory. You have no idea what you are talking about and your posts in this forum said it all

Now, point me to one post where I was told anything about our directory.
