Do you think SEO is easier with MSN? |

On one of my sites, MSN gives me a top 5 keyword placement, while on Google, I wasn't even on the first page. And MSN indexed the whole site, while Google had only indexed the main page. I've noticed this for other websites as well. So do you think SEO is easier with MSN?

Yes, and that's not necessarily a good thing.
Google has a tendency to try and filter out as many of the SEO tricks as possible in order to find sites that are more relevant and built with the user in mind. They don't always succeed, but they do a much better job at it than MSN tends to.

MSN is fine if you ask me. Google is better but MSN and Yahoo! are close conpetitors. Are you criticising it bcuz M$ owns it ? lol. Well, I hate M$ myself. I use linux. But MSN is good for searces on fashion and stuff. But again, it doesnt have experience in the field as Google.

Heh, Microsoft's Zune is probably their best product I've seen. And as for Vista, KDE Linux Desktops have and still look better in my opinion. I went on one of those KDE theme sites, and I was amazed. There was even a theme to make Linux look like Vista.

I don't have a lot of use for the MSN search engine though, both personally and professionally.

MSN appears to be easier to rank for. I rank on the first page for numerous keywords for MSN but in Google it's nowhere near as good. I have to agree with hhheng though that the rankings in MSN do fluctuate quite a bit.

I don't know that it's necessarily easier to optimize for MSN, just different. You can get away with a lot more spammy techniques with MSN so maybe that makes it easier.

SEO = search engine optimization
There's a lot of information here on the forums about it. We even have several forums devoted to talking about. A good read here will probably help.

I have found MSN asks less from a website than google does, So i guess that makes it easier to rank well.. But then, It will be easier for everyone, So does that really make it easier for an individual to rank well?
It's like running 50M is easier than running 1000M, But if everyone is only running 50M it doesn't make winning any easier.

But when there aren't as many runners, the race becomes easier to win. That's part of it too...MSN isn't even close to the same size as Google is.
