Which is why many people will say it's easier to optimize a site for MSN. Many of the old spammy techniques will still work get a page ranked in MSN.

I'm not sure MSN ranking is really useful.
For everything significant to my site, I rank really high on MSN whereas I could be 5th to 9th page on google. Yet, google sends 70% of my traffic, MSN is currently around 0.5%.
Then again, maybe it just depends on your sites topic and audience.

But which one sends more traffic that converts into customers. It may be Google, but depending on your topic you might find MSN searches end up being the ones who spend the money.

It's not just about traffic. Traffic is good for the most part, but I'd rather have one visit that leads to a sale than 1000 visits that lead to none.

For some topics the MSN crowd may turn out to be better for your business even if less of them arrive on your site.

It doesn't matter.

How are you going to get the people who don't know about your site yet to use MSN instead of Google for all their searches because you rank better?

I think you are absolutely correct. Since mine is informational, I try to focus on being helpful.
Right now according the goog analytics, the average visitor on my site is there for almost 10 mins.
If you focus on being useful and getting traffic that would find your site useful, everybody benefits. Besides, why pay for bandwidth for traffic that doesn't want to be there.

I dont think so that MSN is better than google. If the question is of being ranked in top 10 in MSN and nowhere in google, simply depends on their algorithm. MSN, i think considers the meta tags.

It's like running 50M is easier than running 1000M, But if everyone is only running 50M it doesn't make winning any easier.
I 100% agree with this? But the point, which search engine does give you more related contents to your search???

Well I haven't focused on MSN but for Google I found it to be very easy and I think SEO will be much easier with MSN and Yahoo.

My experience with one site: If I consider Google+Yahoo+Msn=100% traffic, then the share of Google is 70%, Yahoo is 15%, and Msn is 15%.

That should depend on many factors, anyway.

ya, i think so.. because some also of keywords are already in MSN but not in google.. as far i know, in three major search engine msn is easiest to index a site not just like in google which the most difficult...

I've seen this with a few of my sites. One day i am number one the next i'm not listed on the first 10 pages. At least google doesn't tease me they keep me on page 10 all the time.

it's the easiest search engine to get top rankings in, but it's the one of the top 3 that brings the least amount of traffic

MSN appears to be easier to rank for keywords. Although there is a problem with the link command for inbound links, still the keyword ranks well.

Just concentrate on the GG and Y and you'll get listed on MSN along the way.
