Yahoo Google etc

Hi All

Just a few points I need cleared up hope someone can help.

1. My site got listed on Yahoo about 2 months ago and it started to list my homepage and a few other pages. Over the last 2 weeks all my pages dropped out of yahoo except my home page has anyone else noticed this or have I done something wrong??

2. A quick question on Google is there really an ageing delay for new sites between 6-8months before they will get listed on the top ranks as all the other search engines have listed me page 1 but someone said Google won't list new sites for 6-8months due to this ageing delay

On point number one, I can say that the Yahoo spider ONLY visits my homepage and never does any 'deep spidering'

Yahoo lists all the pages of my site. Oddly enough Google is the one that tends to not index many of my pages. As far as the second question goes, most believe that Google "sandboxes" new sites. Visit the Google forum here and you will see ALOT of discussion about this.

Yahoo works great for me and crawls all my pages on a regular basis. If you work on SEO and keeping your sites search engine friendly as well as getting relevant backlinks to your site, then i'm sure the yahoo spider will start to deep crawl your site.

I have found that yahoo so far has only spidered my homepage where as google has spidered most of them.

There is a thread running at the moment and a poll asking about whether the sandbox exists

Same with me - So far yahoo have spidered only my homepage where as google has spidered most of them (15000+) from Mar 21, 2005
