There are a lot of search engines, I also don't know how many. but google is at number 1 then yahoo and then bing.

Basically, there are many types of the search engines available in the market. Another thing is that it helps to find out any relevant information as per the search term. All of the search engines has its own structure for the indexing.

Honestly I use Google. And rarely Yahoo! But I do not know why you want to know how many search engines out there! Surely there are hundreds of search engines out there!

Here is there share on the web:

1) Google 70%
2) Yahoo 20%
3) Rest 10%

I have also noticed that once your website is indexed in the Big G [Google], it also gets indexed in the minor search engines after some time.
