BackLinks form Same Domain considered as Unique Links By Google ?

Will Back links, coming form different threads or posts of a Forum or blog to a website, be considered as unique and Different back links or they will be ignored by Google as they are appearing from Same Domain ???

I think Google will count them as link but may not gave them credit or may not count them for the ranking of the site.

What are your thoughts ?

only yahoo count that, google don't.

I think it could also help, as for my experience because posting 1 or 2 posts only then leave the forum is useless. You should go back from time to time.

Hi,

I dont think that google will count multiple links from same domain as unique.

Due to this reason most of webmasters try to collecting backlinks from different IPs.

I am not sure Yahoo, may be yahoo count these as unique.

I do think that Google counts all links regardless if you have a link on that domain already or not. They likely devalue each new link from that domain though. So each new link is worth a little less.

Yahoo counts all the links. But google does not show all the backlinks in their search engine. But I bet they count the backlinks from forums as well as long as they discover it. It might hold less value because of the high number of outgoing links from each and every pages of forums.

everybody is just guessing. Nobody actually knows.

However if links from the same domain were discounted, then potentially the sites own navigation would be discounted, and as can be seen that is obviously NOT the case.

Of course a site's own navigation would be slightly discounted. Why should the navigation count for more than offpage links, what is this, Yahoo? Google has never seemed to properly credit a large number of links on one site, such as sitewide text links, forum signatures, etc. Chris I think you may be somewhat guessing as well, but then again that is part of SEO. Since the search engines won't come out and explain every feature of their algorithm, the SEO community is left to make educated guesses based on personal experience and collective opinion.

Yes the backlinks from different webpages will be considered as different backlinks and PR will prosper with help of them.

Yep I am guessing based on observations and experimantation, and will freely admit that.

However most answers here seem to be based on what shows in Webmaster tools etc.

Just because a link shows up in there ( or not), you should NOT infer or assume that it is used for any purposes by the SE in question.

Why on earth would you assume that a sites own navigation would be discounted? With many site operators it's probably the only links that could be actually trusted as not being manipulative.

However IF you got links for the RIGHT reason you wouldn't even care whether the SEs "counted" them or not.

Backlinks from same thread will be counted as one backlink and from different thread will be counted as different backlinks. however, if it is coming from same domain then it wont help much in PR and the result will be static.

And you can demostrate this "fact" how exactly?

A little while ago I came upon some empirical testing that seemed to prove
Google will take all the links on a particular page, A,B,C....

then ignore links B through to Z that happen to point to the same URL as link A.

Which makes the order of backlinks on a page rather important since some will contain keyword anchor text and others will not.

Hi shane, nice question you thought of bringing up. To be honest I haven't thought of that possibility of backlinks not being counted by search engines if it appears from the same domain. Although, I still think that its being recognized and being given value to, I hope..hehe
