Microsofts just launched its new search engine, its called Bing not Kumo as
was previously reported here. See this guardian article. Trying it on my site
it seems it doesn't mind following no-follow links, but it doesn't pick on forum
links, e.g. nothing from webmaster-talk.

F**k BING and the horse it road in on. Bad idea, worst idea from microsoft. Do yourself a favor and stick with Google.

BING! What a joke.

My 2 cents of course.

Not a huge fan of BING so far ... I don't think it is "worst idea from Microsoft", but defiantly no the best

It claims that the Vole's latest search engine makes it all too easy to view hardcore porn videos without even leaving the search engine.
^^ hehe

That its great. I havn't used Bing at all yet, i clicked on one ad from microsoft that had to do with searching for a formula, and all I got was rubbish in the results. Not too impressive as whatever the point was that the ad was supposed to make, it didn't work.

I am not impressed by Bing. Their serp results are not good and their bots are too lazy to crawl sites.

I'm not too impressed with Bing.

I don't think it looks as good as Google, and the search results were not as good as google for me.

I think is a total waste on Microsoft's part. Seriously, not too many people are willing to give up Google without something revolutionary and astonishing, neither of which describes Bing.

A lot of folks said the same thing when Google was getting started.

Why would I give up alta vista? yahoo? infoseek?

OTOH, Google has done really well to keep the search interface very focused on search. MS definitely has their work cut out for them. But, I wouldn't sell them short either. MS has some really good sales people, and they offered unlimited use of the developer API. Thats the kind of thing that can draw in the developer crowd.

All i have to say is this... Its a hell of a lot better then that antiquated yahoo SE.

I lost the article, but its already more popular than Yahoo. I say grats to them. 100million dollars and they are about 50% stronger based then a 10 year old gimp system.

Burn yahoo... burn

But I actually quite like Bing.
I like its clean modern interface and the fact that from here where I am, in New Zealand I can choose advanced and search "from" other countries !
This really shows up my website as being poorly noticed !

Don't forget that many people will just be trying Bing, the key will be in a few months when the novelty has worn off. How many people will have made it their default Search Engine ?

I don't think Bing is going to make too much of an impact on Google... as far as most lay people will see it, it's just ninemsn rebranded. Not exciting, and the public relations will die down soon.

In my opinions Bing is not so bad and if they will keep working to improve it then probably it will get some success, but of course Bing can't beat Google, at least not in the near future.
