I've recently published my 1st website for a small art guild. I enjoyed building it using RVsiteBuilder and hosting it on WebHostingBuzz.
The non-profit organization consist of 8 words, which I've put as Meta keywords; the site's title also uses the same 8 words but when I go to google, MSN or Yahoo, even when I type all 8 words, I can't find my site.
I've rad google disregards Meta keywords anyhow.
I'm not seeking a high site traffic but something that will lead a search with 6-7 of the words in the site without paying additional fees for this site.
Can anyone shine some light my way?
Thanks

Have you submitted your site to Google WebMaster Control Panel or read the Google Webmaster Blog?

When was it published? Do you have any backlinks? Be patient. It can take up to 2 weeks for a web to be shown on google. More even on Yahoo and MSN

Anyway, just work on getting your site noticed by the SEs. Directory submissions sometimes helps.

how google bots will come on your site and list your site, from where they will get your address (domain name) ?
So submit your site in few directories and social bookmark it, As google crawls that sites regularly and it will get your site from there and crawl it too.
And this strategy will give you some traffic too.

I thought that h1 tags were useless from over user. Do they still work?

@ GuyGolf Try directory submission, especially topical/niche directories that cover your topic. Use your keywords in the title of the submission. You need backlinks to stay in search engines. After they find you in directories, you will start showing up in the search engines. Just wait a while.
