Difference between SEO and PPC

I know this might be a little elementary, but what is the main difference between SEO and PPC? Do you consider PPC to be part of SEO?

Especially when you talk about SEO and PPC in "the other search engine" part of the forum and about marketing budget in the "Google" part of the forum.
It's one thing to cross post, it's another to do it in the proper part of the forum.

Some site who wants to boost their ranking use both on their internet marketing campaign. If you have a budget, play with PPC, SEO on the other side is for longer term and receive more real visitors of your niche.

Both are the source of promoting the website with the only difference ie -
SEO is the process to promote any website without paying money and PPC is the process to promote any website with some cost.

The results after SEO will target traffic from search engine search results.
(This is how most people find what they are looking for on the internet.)

SEO is Free, if you do it yourself, but for best results, most companies hire an SEO expert or SEO company to help with search engine optimization.

PPC is paid advertising that cost money every time someone clicks on an ad.

PPC advertising is a quick way to start marketing a new web site, or to help launch a new product/service.

Without a doubt SEO is essential and PPC is optional.

SEO is SEO but PPC is SEM (search engine marketing) Once you started you need to go with SEM as soon as you have you SEO up you will replace SEM and SEO
