Hello everyone,

I have a multi-catagory / level website that is comprised of eight intro pages located in sub-directories:
eg. http://www.index.htm/batteries/battery-intro.htm
http://www.index.htm/tires/tires-intro.htm
etc...

My question is this:

One of the sub-level intro pages, say ".../tire-intro.htm", was optimized for the search engines. However, the keywords density / quantity of the index.htm and the other sub-level intro pages was exceedingly high, to the point of being considered as "spamming the search engines". Would the search engines ignore the entire site or, would they spider the optimized ".../tires-intro.htm" page but discard the rest?

Thanks in advance to all those that respond.

Different engines employ different strategies to understand whether your content is spam or not spam.

Keyword density is only an indicator. NOT a hard and fast rule. You should be writing for your visitors, not the SE robots.

IMHO, if you can make your content readable by humans you can avoid getting axed. Even if you get axed, you can contact the SEs to explain you case. So there is a chance that your content may get indexed.

The above statement is only relevant for content pages.
NOT FOR ANY DOORWAY PAGE.
