If you write really good articles it actually might, both PR (have some to do with backlinks you will get from the signature and traffic if visitors that read your article find you have more to say...

Article submission helps increase the ranking of your targeted keywords in SERP. It also brings decent traffic if it's a quality article.

It didn't in the cases I tested out - http://veikoh.wordpress.com/2007/06/...-does-it-work/
Later have tried goarticles with same result. Maybe for someone, but writing something to your blog will be much more effective than article directories.

Rather than article submission, try writing a guest post for a popular blog. Of course, that'll mean that you have to write an informative article and edit it, two things I'm guessing most of you can't or won't do.

My one and only suggestion -

Google loves more content, but not copied one. So be unique and add more content in your website itself, rather than submitting the same article to hundreds of directories, grading them into copied content.

If the article you submitted is unique and you put link on it pointing to your site, maybe it can help to increase pr but a little.

Article submission increase the ranking of a website in search engines. The article should be interesting then the chance of visitors will visit the website. It can also increase back links. Always submit article in good article submission directories.

All of you who think "articles" are some magic bullet to "SEO success", should read this -> http://www.highrankings.com/forum/in...howtopic=34999 and this -> http://www.highrankings.com/forum/in...howtopic=35273 and prepare to be overwhelmingly unimpressed by the results.
