If you write really good articles it actually might, both PR (have some to do with backlinks you will get from the signature

Later have tried goarticles with same result. Maybe for someone, but writing something to your blog will be much more effective than article directories.

Rather than article submission, try writing a guest post for a popular blog. Of course, that'll mean that you have to write an informative article and edit it, two things I'm guessing most of you can't or won't do.

My one and only suggestion -

Google loves more content, but not copied one. So be unique and add more content in your website itself, rather than submitting the same article to hundreds of directories, grading them into copied content.

If the article you submitted is unique and you put link on it pointing to your site, maybe it can help to increase pr but a little.
