You are missing a decent title tag - you have to many words.

You should add titles you your links

and you should use a h1 tag with your pages keyword in it, that should get you started.

You need to have a title tag on all your pages.

You have got way to many keyword in there, it spreads right across the top of the screen.

Look at this posts title tag, short and to the point!

hey yankees51,

I dont do the SEO work, We work with a team of 5 and the person who usually takes care of SEO and Graphics work they are both away and wont be back for a couple of weeks. So i said to them that i'll play around with it (pretended that i know what im doing) so yeah i dont want to look like a goose infront of him. But i wanted to start working on the rankings and stuff so when they come back we could at least have some sort of alexa and google rankings. Than maybee he can continue the SEO work unless i've done it right...

I do the web designs only. thanks for the feedback on the design

I am so sorry that you took offense to my comments - I get it now, you lied to your colleagues to look good by "pretending to know SEO" - My mistake.

Since you have also implied that you wanted to get a head start on Alexa and Google rankings I want to categorically tell you that both measures are useless - this further expands your statement that you do not know SEO.

So once again - my apologies to you, I hope your colleagues don't read this thread by Googling www.SwiftProductions.com.au

Darren thats evil... giving him a back link like that....
Funny though! - Lets help the guy out!

Seriously though Danny,
My advise would be to take the site down and replace with a holding page until the site is finished.

The banner accross the top is doing you no favours say "some pages may not work"
First impressions and all that...

Make your <title> shorter on all the pages.

instead of things like
"at swift productions we specialise in blah, blah, blah...

Change to
"webdesign, web hosting specialists in (your town area)...."

Things like that. Think of what people will search for when they use a SE.
And make them RELIVANT to each page.

yankees51, i have a little idea on SEO work, ive been reading this and following what people are saying. I said to them i'll play around with it. I did not say that i now what im doing. they know that i don't have a clue and the last this they said to me was be carefull i dont get the site banned what ever that mean; so im sticking to what you experts say. Plus i told them that i'll ask people in forums if i get stuck, so typing www.SwiftProductions.com.au in google is not a problem. i'll be showing them all the threads anyways.

rolda hayes, thanks for your advice will deffantly take those into account and make the changes some time today. You are right about the back link, it is funny if i didn't have swiftproductions in my signature

thanks for the advice again mate, really appreciate it

Danny,

I think that Rolda is right - really try to concentrate on the title of your pages - it appears that the current titles are really your META descriptions - I can understand the urge while designing a page to simply copy and paste that description and move on to design the next page.

Title descriptions are typically the links that one clicks in the SERP (Search Engine Results Page) so it is important that they are user friendly or eyecatching as Rolda mentioned, here are a couple of yours from Google for example:

Website | Hosting | Graphic Design Company | Profession web and ...

Website | Hosting | Graphic Design Company | Profession web and graphic design company based in sydney and ACT.
www.swiftproductions.com.au/ - 7k - Cached - Similar pages -

SwiftProductions.com.au ABN: 84 723 182 610 Postage Address: PO ...

SwiftProductions.com.au ABN: 84 723 182 610 Postage Address: PO Box 242 Mitchell, ACT 2911. Contact us today for a FREE NO OBLIGATION QUOTE. ...
www.swiftproductions.com.au/contact_us.html - 11k - Cached - Similar pages -
More results from www.swiftproductions.com.au »

I would also make sure that when writing your titles that you use the spelling feature in MS Word and the technique that Rolda had mentioned before:

Quote:
Make your <title> shorter on all the pages.

instead of things like
"at swift productions we specialise in blah, blah, blah...

Change to
"webdesign, web hosting specialists in (your town area)...."
You have a lot of pages where the titles need adding or changing.

Onto the next items - With regard to examples I feel it would be of great benefit to future clients to see the diversity of your work. (The fact that Swift can take on the challenge of any organizations branding and corporate identity needs)

Apart from the Title tags mentioned here, this text has nothing to do with the typical SEO techniques that most people offer in these forums, however it is more focussed on content and your sites ability to keep your visitors interested in Swift Productions.

In summary fix your title tags per Rolda - and link out to some of the work you have done for other clients

Yes they can read javascript, but they do not execute the scripts.

<h1>Some Text</h1>

any order you like.
But to be structurally correct they would be in cascaded in descending order

-------------------------------
<h1>Page Main Heading</h1>

<h2>Section header</h2>
h3 to h6 would be used as sub headers

<h2>Next Section header</h2>
h3 to h6 would be used as sub headers

Rinse & Repeat as necessary

---------------------------------

Hey chrishirst,

thanks for breaking it up for me, ive got one question... do I have to have them showing up on the site? I don't want them to be seen as you can see the site has only information towards the bottom. if you look at this page www.swiftproductions.com.au/index2.html you can see what happens when ive added the h1, h2 and h3 tags. Also ive been looking around and apparently there is no point going further than h3 tags, is this true??

looking forward to your reply. thanks mate

If you don't want them to be seen don't use them. The tags aren't meant as a way to boost your search ranking and they won't work to do that. If you hide them and a search engine finds them, bye bye indexed site.

Use headings to structure your content. The page you linked to has no need for them. What you're trying to do will be seen as spam by search engines.
