What is the use of the webmaster tools on live search.
I say this because I enjoyed pole position on MSN untill I submitted to MSN live. search.
I am top with Yahoo and Google..just submitted to them and hey presto!.
This is what I have found so far with MSN Live search.
In my control panel on webmaster tools I would do all the bits for verification, submit a sitemap.xml add a html page only to find 24 hours later that I am not verified, so back through the routine I go. After a few weeks of this with no results to show in terms of page rank I gave up, sent an email to the MSN live search team explaining what I had done....blah de blah but still no result.
Last week my web site showed up top of the MSN hit list for my preferred keywords...... whoopee! but not in a UK search, so I went to my webmasters C/P and found that I was still not validated and that the last crawl was in December 2007 but my page I had found last week had been cached on the 13th March 2008. I tried to re validate, 2 days later I had disappeared from live search!!.
Conclusion.
Given that my site conforms to MSN Live search guidelines and that it enjoys top position on the other search engines I find live search a total **** up....what are we to expect if Microsoft acquire Yahoo?
I have withdrawn all web sites from live search, my belief is that I will get ranked by not using the tools from MSN........After all I got ranked when I had not validated!
I hear all these people saying it will all come together but it does take time....time is money and 6 months is more that enough time to get ranked.
I have seen sites that have no relevance to the search words I enter coming above mine on MSN, so where is the logic with MSN Live search.
Logic tels me that there are things afoot....think about this.....A good webmaster will optimize his/her site and get a good natural listing with good back links and quality keyword density and enjoy top status for a number of years, but are we naive to think that this is not noted by the major search engines? Revenue is what a search engine is about, Adwords and PPC are what all search engines want so how better to get that? say no more.
Be interesting to hear what others have to say.
