What percentage of your traffic is form other search engines

Google is very popular now, Unlike a long time a ago (remember when all the magazines called Altavista the best search engine?). I think most people use only google now and some poeple arn't aware of other search engines. How much of your traffic comes form other search engines? Is it worth bothering with them?

To be honest, you shouldn't be focusing on any one particular search engine. If you create a good "user centric" (tm) site with useful, unique content that attracts links naturally and is structured well, it will be well equipped to do well in any search engine.

The algorithms for the different engines will place more or less emphasis on different things, but they all work in the same way fundamentally.

To answer your other question though:
Google: 64%
Live: 2%
MSN: 2%
AOL: 1%
Yahoo: < 1%

For me, oneof my site gets more traffic from Yahoo then from Google. Well not always, but there are months which Yahho gives me more traffic. I was very surprised. Anyone had the same thing?

There is a big percentage of the traffic that is coming from search engines, since 80% of all sales that are made online, are coming from a search engine query.

I know at least one circunstance where one can wish to focus on a specific engine; if you have a very important page with keywords that compete against each other and wish to optimize your page. Putting a bit more emphasis on some keywords or titles in bold may dilute the others in the long term. So is a 8 th position on Yahoo with keywords 'A,B,C' better than a 19 th position on Google with keywords 'D,E,F' ? It depends oh the number of visitors and the quality of your visitors in each case..
The search engine's popularity may be different in non English speaking countries. Google is still a major player in France and Gemany but I'm still unsure if it is more popular than Marwerb in North Africa.
