Is there an advantage to having multiple domains names link to your site? like if i have shoes.com, is it benificial for me to have (common search terms) buyshoes.com or cheapshoes.com?

If it does help in rank, how do i go about it? (i know i have to buy the domains... but what next?)

Links from other sites, regardless of the domain names, are important.

As of today there's no benefit (in terms of serp placement) to having a themed link vs a non-themed link.
