I keep hearing how difficult it is to make Adwords profitable with out your own website. Many people who write tutorials on Adwords say all you need to do is open an acct. with ClickBank (or whoever) an acct. with google, write a good ad with relevant keywords and make money. Others say that you need you own website with lots of content and links. Myself, I would prefer to take the path of least resistance but I want to know what works...

I think a lot depends on what you're selling, how well you understand AdWords and how it works, etc.

If you're in a heavily competitive or saturated market, you could wind up paying quite a bit for advertising with very little ROI (Return on Investment).

Also important is how well you write your ad copy, how targeted your ad(s) are/will be, etc.

There's just so many variables that a direct, specific answer is next to impossible.

Rule #1: The path of least resistance is the hardest path.
Rule #2: Shortcuts take longer.

If you understand those two rules, you'll understand what works and what doesn't (and the tutorials you're reading do not, do not, do NOT work...haven't in 10 years, won't now.) The people posting them copied from other people who posted them and sold them some bill of goods, thus pyramid-scheming the idiotic concept downward.
