"madlib" spam

the very thing that SEs DON'T want to index.

I'd suggest watching the Vanessa Fox interview (the other pinned thread)

I had seen the interview, and just watched it again in case I missed something. From what I can tell, I should only find myself with all but one version of each page in the supplimental results.

I've never heard of madlib spam but googled some info on it, though nothing that directly relates to it being shun upon by SE's.

I'm not about to tempt fate so I have remarked the code for now.

Anyone have a success story? or an alternative for me? I dont see the major damage of leaving this info in my titles, but if its shunned upon, I can live with out it, and use my client profile pages with their suburbs instead.

Do you think if you were to copy about 30 or so articles from your old website to another your new site will be penalized or not rank high on those copied tutorials/articles?

It's a nice thing to do by Google on duplicate content....
Now, ones like wikipedia.org would not worry about people creating similar sites with same content!
Nice thing for the concept starters!

how do we migrate content to different country domains without falling into the trap of duplicate content. we have a .com and now are launching .co.uk although we have taken care to have the .co.uk more country specific a lot of pages, content on case studies etc are going to be the same.

Is that allowed? can anyone shed some more light on this please?

Ya, thats really nice to know but still duplicate content should be avoided as using dulicate content may damage your website reliability.....and also search engines show unique results for any search query.

So always try to focus on unique content for your website for better search engine rankings for your different web pages and to make it reliable for users as well as search engine..

If you use someone's content, it's only a matter of good manners to leave a link to the original source. You do not have to worry about google penalties or anything in that case. The only thing you have to deal with if you don't should be your conscious.

The bottom line is GOOGLE won't penalize you for Duped Content, however, don't go on a duplicating spree because it may all be in vain since Google will select the most relevant piece anyway and the others will simply be disregarded. Keep that in mind.

Yes, good point. When someone gets to your site, they don't know you from Adam, so reliability is extremely important, particularly in Ecommerce.

Reliability will only come into play if they deal with your site on a regular basis.

Credibility is more important on first impressions.
