hello to everyone. I have a brand new site and i was
wondering how can i promote it in Google or yahoo (how can i
gain PR)? Also i wanted to ask about a tip i received
yesterday from another webmaster. He mentioned something
about a new type of link building software called
rank1.info. He claims it will bring me hundreds of quality
backlinks to any page I nominate. Has anyone heard of it, is
it good, and will it help me in some way? I'm new to these
things and i hope I'll get your advice.
Thanks in advance

Don't use software, It will do nothing for getting you quality links, it will just spam forms it finds on forums and blogs.

Build a quality site, Read lots of SEO articles and work hard at it.

st0x is right about the software. There really isn't any that's any good. Much of it also goes against search engine guidelines as well.

Be careful when reading SEO articles. Many of them are...well...CRAP. Flat-out dyed-in-the-wool tell-everyone-what-they-want-to-hear-as-opposed-to-the-truth CRAP. That's not to say don't read them...it's just to say that you have to really process the information and see if it makes sense.

Your rule of thumb should be "optimize your site without interfering with the user experience." If you can do that, you'll be fine.

most of the software that claims top ranks may not work well,
sometimes they may cause adverse effects.
to get good traffic from search engines,
optimise your site.
concentrate on on site and off site optimisation
submit to relevant directories.
make your site useful to visitors

PR has nothing to do with serps remember that, PageRank or PR is can define the importance of your site to SE's.

You can promote your site first, submit your site to Search Engines,

Then do the following part of link building and optimization.

Inpage optimization

- tags
- keywords for your content
- make your site SE's Friendly
........

Link Building

1.) Submit your site to Free directory
2.) Link Exchange
3.) create an article
4.) participate in forums
5.) any ay otherway to gain more links
6.) refeat step 1-5
7.) link baiting

...........

My own rule of thumb has always been to build a website for the human viewer first, and then optimize around that principle.

After all, when all is said and done, your site must also appeal to the human so that you can make a sale. That is why you got into the business in the first place, right?

I think you and I are actually saying the same thing in two different ways, Bill. In order for SEO not to interfere with the user experience, the user experience has to be put first.

I had a hard time getting my husband's web-site on google. I paid submitit one time to submit my web-site and they did five free ad's, and I kept putting our web-site all over the internet. now we come up a few times in the first top ten. check it out our website www.floridarescreen.com. but on google type orlando rescreen. If you want this is the company I used to first get started.

For those of you who may fall for the BS testimonial provided by Mandy, consider three things:

1) Her username is "submitit".
2) She links to a site that doesn't even have its own domain name. Seems a true SEO company would at least know the importance of a domain name, wouldn't they, kids?

This is called SPAM. It's also known a lie, a false claim, and a self-indulgent vested interest attempt to sell you a bunch of crap that will do you no good whatsoever.

This SEO lesson has been brought to you by the letters B and S, and a person with an IQ of 0.

For those who might stumble upon this thread and think it could be legitimate, SnoopDoggy is a forum spammer and is cross-posting this garbage to different forums.

http://www.ihelpyou.com/forums/showt...threadid=23763

So please be warned: this is not a legitimate request for help.
