Google Backlinks Update - 9-1-06

I just noticed Google is once again updating backlinks, from 315 to 476 for SearchBliss.

Well i hope that info is correct. I've been showing only 75 backlinks since last update. Went done then for some reason. Most of the data centers are still showing the same, but two are showing 271. I know it doesn't really matter much what they show, but I still like seeing it go up.

This doesnt seem right. I know for sure there are over 10 websites (ver well known websites) linking back to my website. But they don't show up on that website mentioned above.

Any idea why?

Also, Do the links posted in other forums count as a backlink?

Google only shows a random sample of backlinks (if any)

2/ some do, most don't

Chris, you beat me to it. G only shows backlinks that it feels are relevant, not all of them.

It seems now that Google is showing only 315 backlinks for SearchBliss on all of the data centers on my tool. It's as if it never changed at all??? Well, it doesn't matter anyway.

This must have been a fluke. I saw a change on two data centers for two days, now nothing...odd.

kline it could have been Google just testing something on those servers and now they've gone back to the way things were before the testing.

Now two data centers are again showing changes. Maybe It's just and EXTREMELY SLOW update???

Yeah i'm seeing some changes now. Most DC show me having 8 BL for my googtube blog and two DC are showing 497

I guess I caught it early. Now I see 7 data centers changing, so I wasn't losing my mind.

Another google backlink update

Google Updated Backlinks

Dated : 14-Sep-2006

My client Nucleus Data Recovery site backlinks goes from 208 to 356.

Can somebody predict PR Update. I hope it wil be due in next 15 days. Isn't it ??

I noticed the update yesterday as well. I'm seeing the same increase I mentioned in my first post here 75 -> 271

Hey all... one of my partners in the web dev biz hangs out here occasionally which led me here.....

I was just on about this at WMW earlier today... so once more won't hurt...

What's the excitement ?

Google now and forever more wil not show more than a 'sampling' of BLs. It is not about the quality nor anything else. Since FLORIDA the war on Link Spammers heated up and it's been pretty much useless ever since.

YaH will give you a much better idea of your BLs and then learning some about how Google treats a Link Profile will fill in the blanks for you

I am NOT trying to be a di_k, just saving some grief worrying about a defunct data source, that's all

David you're exactly right and in truth most of us in this thread will usually tell people the same. For whatever reason a lot of people seem to get excited when Google updates anything, but yeah it's not like because they decided to show a few more links in their sample anything really changed.

And by the way welcome to WT. I'm guessing you have a lot to add to the discussion here.
