there are a ton of things google takes into consideration when ranking a page.
my best suggestion to increase your pagerank (aka. page popularity), is to start exchaning links with other people and get more incoming links to your page...you can do this in many ways including submitting your site to directories such as DMOZ etc...or by just by emailing people and asking to exchange links...
there are lots of ways to do it, and it will help you out greatly with the search engines.
