Hi,

Someone mentioned that a webpage should not contain more than 100 links, if it does then these excess links do not benifit from the PR of the page.

Is there any truth to this?

If you're asking about the links in excess of 100? No one knows
for sure.

If you're asking about all the links on a page, the common answer, from what I've read, is that the value of the vote diminishes in proportion to the amount of links, whether it's 2 or 2,000.

Best bet is to do a Google search for "google 100 links" without
the quotes. I think you'll find some interesting reading about it.

If there are more than 100 links on a page then Google will ingore the page because they have said that more than 100 links is too many. If you have 50 links on a page, it is unlikely that much pr will get passed. You want to try to keep it at a maximum of 25 outbound links a page.

Hi, where does Google say that more than 100 links/page is too many?

Bompa,

It's a guideline. It does not necessarily mean if you have more than 100 links you will be banned but it is a good recommendation to follow.

It's right here: http://www.google.com/webmasters/guidelines.html
Under: "Design and Content Guidelines" Last line...
