Correct!

and it was never meant to!
It is a solution for bigger sites that have problems creating a navigational structure that allows for deeper crawling.
It was not meant as a panacea to get over the shortcomings of a poor design or structure

If you want to get more pages indexed then create a way ON YOUR SITE for the bot to get to the pages

Currently there is some problem with site: command. So no need to worry if you are receiving traffic from Google as usual.

Create a static link site map on your own site for googlebot to follow.

The loss of indexed pages is nothing to do with the introduction of your sitemap. There are many reports of a reduction of indexed pages in google at the moment, so you are not alone. You'll just have to wait it out.

Google seems to be running out of space on their servers. You can read more here:

Quote:
As Google grows, so does its need to store and handle more Web site information, video and e-mail content on its servers. "Those machines are full," Mr. Schmidt, the chief executive, said in an interview last month. "We have a huge machine crisis."

I think you're problem might be all the links at the bottom of the page. They would probably look incredibly spammy to a search engine. They look spammy to people too. Me at least. They also only seem to take you to a page of your site with Google search results so if those are the pages not being indexed why would they be since there's nothing there to index.

In fact the more I look at the site the more I'm seeing there's no original content whatsoever. Is there any reason your site should be indexed given that all your pages can be found elsewhere?
