ok, i just read a thread about a guy who changed his page extension and lost his page rank, im number 15 right now under search results for slipknot, and i recently renamed my page to index.php instead of .htm because i installed a php counter script, will this affect my page even though its been on the first page for a long time?

PageRank is based on incoming links to an individual page.

Since you are talking about your index page, most are probably linking to you using the URL www.slipknotcpd.com

So in the case you are reffering to above, No, I do not think you will lose your PR.

Does anyone disagree?

I'm the one that changed my index extension, and my PR is now still at 0, having had a 3. My though to0 was that links back were still linking to http://www.clickhereforit.com , without using the extension in the link. I have recently been adding backwards links, mostly PR 5 or more, so I am curious as to what my pagerank will be after the next re-indexing. If I do a search on google using the term clickhereforit I find over 500 links back, but when I do the link:http://www.clickhereforit.com/, it comes up empty. It's a mystery to me....

The links must be uniform, or the PR is diluted. If half the links link to site.com, a quarter link to site.com/index.php, and the remaining quarter link to www.site.com, then you're wating over half your PR.

It's best just to tell people how to link to your pages. That is, give them the code.
