Maybe one of you can answer this.
I've been on a frenzy trying to develop links to our site out there. I've added some reciprocals, sent out about 1500 articles, and gone through the web page by page to submit it to relevant sites that might take it.
At least yahoo and MSN is showing something for the work.....I'm just over 400 links together (Pothetic, I know, but its a start) but google doesn't show a thing.
Here's the kicker: If I type in links:
www.keepyourchildsafe.org, it will bring up no results. However, if I type it in with a space between the links and the site, It pulls up 52 links, which I like much better.
Anyone know why this is? My site has clearly been googled, because we recive content related queries to our site, and for certain unique keywords it shows up on the first page. I also know google recognizes these other links that are out there that clearly go to our site. But yet for what I am really concerned about, making our way to the main searches, it shows no results.
Is there something else I am missing? Why does it bring up no results under the traditional link checker, but when I put a space in between it does? I've noticed that this seems to be the case with other sites as well. If you type it in one way, it will show no results, but put a space in, you get much more. Is there some other way that google counts link popularity? Do they have to be certain types of links? And if so, what kind?
Any help with this would be appreciated. I'm trying to be patient, but at the same time, I want to know how this works so I know what to expect, and it's frustrating me that none of the links I know are out there and I know that google has officially show up on the results or popularity checkers.
Thanks.
Joe.
