Don't know if anyone can help with this.

I have been asked to set up a site which will (ultimately) run in 3 or 4 languages (all from the same .com url)
Is there any risk that Google will see this as duplicate content?

Thanks

I wouldn't think so given the content will be in different languages. I'm not 100% certain, but I would think the content would be considered different.

Google isn't really out to get anyone and if there's a legitimate reason to do something it's generally going to be fine to do so. I think you'll be fine, but maybe someone else knows something I don't about this.

I have no info about it but if it is on the same domain, it would sound illogical for Google to consider it as duplicate content. Most dynamic websites have many ways to access the same content.

why bother, duplicate content on the same domain is not a problem. Some pages will just get filtered out of the results or you will get an indented SERP with two pages shown for that search phrase.

and different languages are highly unlikely to be duplicate, pages aren't translated before being ranked.

That's right, but anyway there is no reason to consider different languages as duplicate content.

I have many sites that work in different languages, and all of them have hits from Google.
