I believe I finally got listed on google, but I do not
know what page I am on under the subject matter
that my website is about which is "resume writing".
I looked under resume, but I couldn't find my website.
I looked under a unique sentence in my website to find
my listing "isn't it time you had a finely crafted resume"
but when search under "resume" I am definely not on
the first 10 pages, and I do not know how far I have to
dig to find my web page. Can someone determine what
page I am on, under the heading of "resume" or "resumes"
"jobs" "careers" Thankyou, su http://equaljob.com

When you say you've finally got listed on google, do you mean Google has indexed your site?

Keep in mind that there are 151,000,000 results under the search term "resume".

As far as knowing where your site is at, the only way I know is to check manually.

Congratulations on getting into the Google index. Like Webaholic said keep in mind there are a lot of other sites also in the results for 'resume' and you really have to keep looking manually to find your site in there. At least I don't think there are any automated tools that will tell your rank outside of the top 100 sites or so.

Now that you've gotten indexed work on opimizing your pages for your keywords. I think 'resume' is going to be difficult to get in to top pages so try going after 2 or 3 word phrases instead.

If you look at Overture's Keyword Selector Tool and type resume you'll get a list of other keywords you can go after. A good place to use keywords on your site is in your <title> Right now the title of your home page is Equalhob.com Home. A better title might be 'Resume Writing Services and Uniquie Resume Designs - eqauljob.com'

I did a quick little search for your website using: http://www.wmtoolkit.net/seo-tools/keyword-position/
Didn't seem to locate your website anywhere for the keywords given.

Seems that your still not yet ranked. then I used this nifty little tool:
http://www.wmtoolkit.net/seo-tools/domain-info/
To see if you're in google, yahoo, msn and to my amazement I was returned with these results:
Domain Name: equaljob.com :

Search Engine | BackLinks | Indexed Pages
Google: 0 | 2
Yahoo: 11 | 1
MSN: 9 | 12
Ask Jeeves: 0 | 0
Altavista: 3 | 1

Page Rank: 0
Listed in DMOZ: No
Listed in Yahoo DR: No
Domain registration date: 06-jan-2006

-----------------

Your competing against the big boys...

after that I used this tool: http://www.wmtoolkit.net/seo-tools/web-comparison/

and plugged in your keywords "resume writing" and you're going up against some pretty big boys.... most pr6's and pr 7's .... so you have your work cut out for you my friend.

I forgot about googlerankings Thanks shabbirbhimani.

That might be the one to use for when your not ranked very high. Looks like it can check about 1000 entires on a given keyword. You need to get a Google api key to use it with Google, but it will check Yahoo and MSN without one.

You can always change them. Google will come back to your site and eventually reindex your pages. They new changes may not show up right away in Google though. It depends on how often they spider your site. Until they do you'll still see the old title and description.

I think this is been partialy said but let me rephrase what has been sai and here is me rendition. When you goto gogole and search www.yourdomainname.com if it comes up with your information all that means is that google has indexed your site and will now crawl it for pages. It does NOT mean you have a ranking for any of your keywords. You may not even appear on the last page. A keyword like resume would cost about $15,000 in my book to get the ranking.

I got WEBCEO as my Ranking checker ..works great for me...

as far as SEO : Work on the Title, Description, keywords (too much i think)and Keyword relevancy
to page is poor. if you have relevant Title, desc and keyword and unique contents then you should'nt have problems ranking within a few weeks in MSN

here's your
Title:Title relevancy to page content is very poor.
The Title relevancy to page content is 29%.
Description:Description relevancy to page content is very poor.
The Description relevancy to page content is 31%.
Keywords:This tag contains too many characters.
This tag contains 603 characters. This is too many for what we would consider a 'robot friendly' web page. The maximum number of characters we recommend for this tag is 500.
This tag contains too many keywords.
This tag contains 44 keywords. This is too many for what we would consider a 'robot friendly' web page. The maximum number of keywords we recommend for this tag is 20.
Keyword relevancy to page content is terrible.
The keywords relevancy to page content is 7%.

Hong I see you've started changing the titles on the site. Looking better.

I'm not sure if I had mentioned this before, but the template you're using codes it's navigation with javascript which can put up bariers to getting the rest of you site indexed. You may want to create a sitemap for your page and have an html link to the sitemap on your home page. You can also try using something like Google Sitemaps to let Google know about all the pages on your site. I haven't used it myself, but it looks like a good program and I've heard good things about it.

It would be a good idea to convert the existing menu to one that doesn't use javascript.

I've also noticed the template tries to correct for it's javascript navigation by using a hidden set of links at the bottom of the page. The wrap links around space gifs in the thought that the search engines will see the links, but they won't interfere with the site design. I'm not sure if this is something the search engines have currently caught on to yet, but if not I'm sure in time they will.
