Quick question...

Can anyone tell me when approximately was the last time Google updated its index and when it is due for another update?

Did it update at the end of July, or are we still waiting on that update?

Although I haven't been following it closely, some people are saying that Google is now updating on a continuous basis rather than once a month. Don't know how much truth there is in it but there's certainly something happening!

Not sure as to whether it updated in July, though. The cached version of my site currently indexed gives the page generation date as:
2003-08-02 06:11:55

Can't see any update times on any searches for the site...never mind.

We've recently redone some meta tags and a few alt tags etc. and I'm a little over eager to see their effect I guess.

i also have been away from watching google closely, but i check everymonth my reciprocal links, and it seems to be the same for about 3 - 5 months.

is there anyone watching it closely, can anyone give us the latest news & findings about google.

Some people believe Google has now moved to a continuously updating index (like Dave said). While I do agree it is what they are moving toward, I am not so sure this has officially starting yet (they may be testing it though).

As well, for most of my sites, back links do not seem to have been accurately updated in some time. PR has as well not been updated yet (however Google may be ranking your site on its actually PR but has not updated the PR we see in the tool bar).

Correct. Google Dance is continous now. I heard that on one of the forums from Google.

and for the Links and Page Rank, it's still sticking to the old one. Although Page Rank was update around a month and a half back but no changes in Links in long times....
