Finance Directory in UK- Facing Problem

Hi to ALL!!!!!!

When soever I have posted any query over here. The response has always been good. I hope this time , U guys can really help me out.

I have a finance directory catering to UK. http://www.seek.uk.com
Google has crawled 17, 500 pages of my site. Though my site has 5000 html pages only, Google shows 17, 500.

My site has many affiliates. I don't think that is wrong ?

During the course of time, I have done all promotional activities present on the earth, Articles, PR, Navigation, content, removal of bad links, kept only those links which were relevant. I kept adding fresh content in the website, now & then.

I have created a Sitemap.XML, thru which Google is showing some results, An RSS feature is also there. But still ????

The ranking is coming with very few few words like secured, online financial directory UK, online Spreadbetting, SIPP providers UK, etc. ( not relevant words)

Recently I have also launched a forum in my site, though it has very few users, so, very less traffic is there. It is also coming in Search results, but non relevant ones.

Google is crawling my site, daily, but not showing in new search results.
What is MISSING???? What do I do ?

It seems to me that Google has indexed both your pages with www and without www which could be considered as duplicate content. It's good to use redirect 301 in your .htaccess file and show just one version - with www or without... How old is your site? It could still be in the sandbox and that's why it doesn't appear in the search results.

It seems to me that either

1. The site is very new and the debated link ageing filter (sandbox) is taking place
2. You are being penalised by google

Google shows no back links to your site even though there are a few thousand in the other engines. My guess is that you have done something to break googles TOS and they are penalising you. Your site is still in the index though so i don't think its anything too serious.

Hi,

Thanx for replying. You have mentioned two points here:

Aging: My site is 3 years old, so I think the aging problem is not there.

In Google the number of backings are 61. You can check by:
link:http://www.seek.uk.com

As I have told you in my previous post, I have done all the necessary SEO related things for my site.

Previously the amount of traffic coming from Google from 30 % , but now it has dipped. I don't know why????

My site has a lot of affiliates, I hope that is not the problem.

Apart from the regular SEO techniques, is there something else I can do, to improve my ranking in Google.

Your right, last time i checked it was 0, perhaps google was doing something with datacentre.

The fact that your site is 3 years old, has backlinks and has a PR of 0 leads me to beleive that your site is being penalised.

Is your site a collection of RSS feeds? Is there any unique content there?

Hi,

Thou my domain is 3 years old, the site was actually live & working just a year back.

& these backlinks have been updated recently.

My site is not a collection of Rss Feeds. I have created an Rss feed for all my articles & PR. Apart from that , nothing else.

What the site has is affilates, from sites, who are in to the same business.
