I know it's been asked a million times... but i would like to point out the people that said january and december are wrong ;P.
I'm aiming for late January or February, as some mentioned, but who knows how long it will take.

But it definately seems to be taking a while. Any ideas?

Should be towards the end of this month if Google sticks to their quarterly updates.

You will get an idea about next PR update. I also assumed that it might be in the end of january or start of the february.

I hope it is, I should see a big jump on my CarForums.net site. In under 3 months it is almost above the Alexa 100,000 mark and since the last update, I've received thousands of link backs from big directories and from google indexes pages on my site. All the predictions say I'll be a PR 5, so we'll see if those predictions are accurate or not.

I'm guessing that it will be soon.

My sites been gaining some ground for certain keywords so maybe an update is already partially underway?

Why?
Whatever the PR of your pages is, it is right now. The real value (the one used in the algo) is calculated constantly. All that happen is the toolbar display is updated, and as it is an integer approximation of the real value, the value assigned to your page could have changed since the last "update" from (the equivalent of) 4.5 all the way up to (the equivalent of) 5.49 and you will never know 'cos it will still show 4.

PR is that really important ? I actually didnt see PR from site, but the backlink from the site that point toward the site. But good PR site usually have lots of backlinks (Example: 50K or more)

If a site is good, it mean it have lots of back links from other site. Thats is call a good site.

Wouldn't be a bad idea, the only problem would be MSN or Yahoo could publish their own and suddenly all the webmasters would be installing and using their toolbar.

I HIGHLY doubt that will happen.... maybe the visual page rank will not be updated as much, but for Google PR is very important. And like the other reply said, the second google drops page rank other companies will swoop in and release their own "Page Rank" toolbar that everyone will use. They would be completely out of thier mind to drop it, I've heard that this rumor is a 100% joke that someone started on another webmaster forum.

Look, The RK is still a myth, and i'm not sure it's ever correct. Sure you say it's the rreal calculation of the algo right now. But that's not true. THink about it, my backlinks always go up, because I constantly get more links and constantly see MSN and Yahoo and Gogole indexing more pages and backlinks.

Now at first It was saying my website would be PR 5, then it dropped to 4 after a few months, then it dropped to Unkown. I've always had a PR 0 since i started my site in late october. Now it's saying i'm staying a PR 0 even though I have gained backlinks, and at one point was saying PR 5... This is ridicilously stupid and just can't be true. I really am starting to get sick of this PR thing, as it makes no sense, and serves NO PURPOSE.

The only purpose it serves is Google's thought of what's important and what's not, which is dumb, they can't know...

The algo is RIGHT now, in current time; all the PR update is, is an update on the toolbar. You want proof?? I've seen it first hand this last week....I used to be result number 6 for the search term "car forums" on google, and just this week we are now #5. Yet our page rank still shows as 4.

Based on what I read it might be in the late Jan.
