Hello everyone,

The meta description showing up for the front page on our site in search results was changed about 6 months ago. Google is nice enough to hit our front page about every day, but it does not seem to pick up the new info.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get the G to recognize this stupid change?... or a way to make it focus on text on the page?... anything to get rid of what G currently has a hold on.

Thanks for any help!

It happens sometimes, or could it be from your DMOZ listing

One very good reason not to care about having a DMOZ entry

Thanks man. That explains it. Now if could only get the DMOZ to not only update the listing, but move me to the correct category I will be happy! Going into the 4th year I have tried to get that listing moved, and now that resource-zone doesn't check on anything for you anymore, I'm screwed.

But thank you very much for figuring that out!!!

I appreciate it

Good luck getting them to update your listing. I think they just ignore the update submissions (even more then the new submissions). My site has an older description as well, but I was lucky because it ranks well for "webmaster resources", which still pertains to my site. I tried to change my listing once a month for about a year. I then stopped trying worried that they would just remove it.
