Searches per day for given keyword

Hey people,
Does anyone know of a website, or a tool that will tell you how many searches are made per day for a given keyword? I don't wanna target a keyword that I will have to compete with millions of sites for. Thanks in advance!

I use Good Keywords, which also searches Overture. Can I assume that the searches for a keyword at overture is roughly the same amount as the searches for google? Yeah, I know what they say about the word assume.......

My guess is yes. That is safe to assume. Maybe the amount of searches differs on Google but the overal ranking will be the same and gives you a good indication of how often a certain word is searched for.

Yes. You are right. Overture gives good idea of the number of searches on Google or the search trends. They keep on updating their DB almost every 45-50 days. Now they have the June DB up.

Overture will provide relevant results, but not very accurate on the Google scope.

The vast majority of people use Google because of it's accuracy...so the kind of people who use Overture are probably slightly skewed in one particular direction I'd wager.

Use it, but with a pinch of salt

What we really need is a Google tool that gives us the same info...come on Google...
