I work for a design firm in PA and we have a couple of search engine optimization clients. We developed a new supplemental site for one of our existing SEO clients and for some reason Google will not rank the site. We aren't having any problems with any other search engines (that don't use Google's rankings). Any suggestions?

Google sucks. They changed their algorithm and now it's crap. I've noticed that under local searches that I do (add your keywords, and then the city) nothing relevant comes up that has any actual content. Mostly garbage or irrelevant nonsense. Don't take it to heart. My site is in the top 3 in every major search engine. It was in Google until this change, now it shows up on the second or third page and I have TONS more content than anything above it.

None of my searches have pulled up anything relevant. I'm going to switch my search preferences to something a little more reliable I think. Google used to be king for all my part number searches and everything else. Now they plain old suck.

BTW, as an afterthought, it wasn't that I was getting much in the way of hits for those keywords, maybe 10 referrals a month, but that's not the point. The point is that the search results used to be relevant. Now they are garbage. Way to go, Google, for screwing everything up that wasn't broken to begin with.

They show 4 of my 30 or more backlinks and they haven't adjusted my PR for the high PR of a couple of them. They don't even have half my pages indexed. Did I mention that they suck?

I guess everyone kind of knows that in the uk 7 out of ten people are using google so most webmasters are having to bear this in mind. the danger is that you might be spending loads of time trying for a high google ranking when perhaps a better search engine might take over or be better. I don't what though!!

Yeah, I've also noticed the huge amount of "unrelated" search results that come up with our keyphrases. And what's worse is if you type in the search string in quotes, you'll find more accurate pages but how many people using the engines really do this?

I was wondering if link popularity wasn't now more important than keyphrases and coding? Two of our newest sites haven't really done any link swaping yet. Do you know how long it could take for Google to crawl the links?
