I've recently started a new forum on biotechnology. However, I only recently realized that I might have run into a glitch which could severely affect my google indexing.

Here's the problem. I've placed all my forum files in a directory and from the home page of the site, I'm redirecting to the home page of the forum. What I wanted to know, will this affect my google ranking. Will google (or for that matter any other search engine) stop indexing my site? I didn't place the forum files because the admin folder of the site and forum were clashing. What solutions exist if the above fears are real?

There is no fear if its a permanent redirect and if its not permanent make it.
