Hi all,

To start off I have to admit that I am finally being sold on the idea that Yahoo and MSN are now producing much better results. At least this is the case for me when I search for what I search for.

There is a TON of movement taking place on these datacenters.

66.102.7.104
66.102.7.105
64.233.189.104
66.102.7.106
66.102.7.147
216.239.63.99
99 66.102.7.99
216.239.63.104

On one of my main keyphrases I have watched my site go to the #1 position in MSN (easy) and #2 and #5 in Yahoo. Today on these datacenters I was pushed from #16 to #70 give or take a few depending on the DC.

Not only was I pushed back, but about 25 scraper sites have moved into the top 40 results. These sites are nothing but reprinted articles and google adsense. Nothing unique. Nothing you cannot find on 100 other sites.

One question... Why?

I am 100% white hat in that everything I do on my sites I take the SE into consideration in making sure that I do nothing wrong, yet sites that are hiding text and duplicating content pass me with the middle finger flying out the window.

With this being said it would seem as though G rewards those who cheat the system and flood the results with ****e sites.

I have sites that are completely crap and unfinished and they rank top 10 in G but are nowhere to be found in MSN and Yahoo.

WTF is going on with G? I rarely rant about G because I have been loyal even though I have watched this kind of thing happen for two years now. No more.

I have tried to make myself believe that G's results were better for too long now. They are not. Depending on the market searched the results can be downright disturbing and it seems to get worse.

I just hope that they dont abandon the SE as being the focus in thier quest to dominate the internet alltogether.

G, we invested in a search engine, not another portal.

You often find that as Google is doing a major update or testing a new algo tweak that the crap will float to the top just before it get skimmed off

Dunno, I never look at rankings for keywords/phrases

Prefer to measure things that mean something

lol, perhaps you should have said...

"Prefer to measure things that mean something to me

Watching rank and making adjustments has brought in an extra $400.00 per month for the last four months for me. So watching these things is quite important as far as I am concerned.

Same thing different methods.

My approach, If the keywords don't appear in the site logs as referer info, the site isn't ranking for them. Saves all that messing about looking to see if it's on this datacentre or that datacentre, page 1 or page 101

I switched over to msn about 2 weeks ago. the one thing I do not like about msn, but I bare with it as I now find google results worse. That is that I am from the Uk so I want a UK site when I search, but there are always US sites and other countires (sometimes a different language) in the top 10. This occurs in google too, but in msn a bit more.
